IB Scores
IB transcripts are typically received from the International Baccalaureate Organization in August. Any IB proficiency credit you earn is automatically posted to your academic record. We accept authentic IB transcripts throughout the year. If you are expecting IB proficiency credit and do not see it in UI-Integrate, you can ask the IBO to send your exam results to Measurement and Evaluation (not to the Office of Admissions and Records). Our address is:
Measurement and Evaluation

IB scores that are sufficiently high to earn course credit supersede UIUC placement test scores that would result in a lower placement. For example, if you scored a 7 on the higher level of the IB Latin Classics exam, you would earn 11 hours for LAT 103, 104 and 301. Let’s say you also took the UIUC Latin Placement Exam and scored a 35. That would place you into LAT 103. Generally speaking, you would accept the IB credit (which includes LAT 103), ignore the UIUC placement message, and consult with your academic advisor about which Latin course next in the sequence you should enroll in.
The University of Illinois recognizes the value of the International
Baccalaureate (IB) Programme. However, you should be aware that there
are times when it is in your best interest to take the UIUC course that
corresponds to the IB credit instead of accepting the IB credit, so as
to be better prepared for the rigors of the subsequent course in the
sequence. Consult with your academic advisor.
