ICES OnlineICES Online is an entirely web-based student rating system. Any UIUC online or Academic Outreach off-campus course can use ICES Online. At this point, we are not allowing traditional face-to-face campus courses to utilize ICES Online unless they are part of the pilot program. We try to automatically load AO and online courses, but if you would like to use ICES Online, it would be wise to contact us by mid-semester to ensure that we set-up your course within the system. We can only load instructors (faculty or TAs) that have greater than a 0% responsibility for the course (as listed in Banner). Department course schedulers are listed on the Registrar's page.
NOTE: While the system will send notes to the students, it is still very important that instructors also remind students about the online course evaluation.
The system uses the University's Bluestem authentication system (NetID & password) to validate instructor, student, and administrator access. ICES Online is coordinated and housed on a secure server. Those instructors that use ICES Online will still be eligible for The List of Teachers Ranked as Excellent by Their Students as well as Longitudinal Profiles, which are used for tenure and promotion decisions. Normative comparisons will not be reported until sufficient data are available.
Special Notice - ICES Online is currently in pilot mode and offered to select departments on campus. The system is also being utilized for online courses and most off-campus Academic Outreach courses. All other course sections should use the standard paper & pencil ICES forms.
